All’Alliance Medical di Guildford si passa da dispensazione e iniezione manuali ad automatiche. Il centro sarà in grado di aumentare il numero dei pazienti trattati in una singola giornata grazie a KARL100 e Rad-Inject.
Seguendo i passi di KARL100 fino nel Regno Unito abbiamo conosciuto il team dell’Alliance Medical Limited: qui hanno recentemente scelto KARL100 per il loro nuovo centro PET-CT a Guilford. Con il supporto del nostro partner locale LabLogic Systems abbiamo completato con successo l’installazione del dispositivo, nella sede di Surrey Reasearch Park, per la dispensazione ed iniezione automatica di FDG.
“The new PET-CT Centre is a really pioneering project, one that Alliance Medical is proud of”, ha detto il Dr. Peter Strouhal, Medical Director di Alliance Medical.
“We chose the Karl100 because it is an excellent system that is easy to use, and the system’s safety was an important consideration.”
Angela Meadows, Head of PET-CT Clinical Services, ci ha spiegato
“By automatically perforating the dose vial septum, as well as drawing from the vial itself, the KARL100 significantly reduces staff radiation doses while still allowing us to be patient-facing. This helps us to keep the ‘human touch’ when patients may be feeling anxious or worried. The KARL100 is less bulky than a truly standalone unit, particularly with the freedom provided by the Rad-Inject component.”
Claire Fitzgerald, Unit Manager at Guildford PET-CT, ha aggiunto
“One of the purposes of the new site is to increase scanning capacity; potentially up to 40 patients a day. The KARL100’s potential speed of drawing up consecutive doses will enable smarter, faster working in busy units.”
In collaborazione con il Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, il centro aumenterà il numero dei pazienti trattati in una singola giornata, riducendo i temi di attesa. Il KARL100 sarà impiegato principalmente per le scansioni PET-TC con FDG e sarà di grande aiuto per la sicurezza dell’operatore e del paziente.
